Got questions or need assistance with your Industry needs?
This coffee stick pack packaging machines project was developed for hogood coffee in Yunnan, China, a coffee industry customer requiring a more stable and higher-output packaging solution for coffee powder sticks.
The customer needed to expand production capacity, reduce labor dependency, improve filling accuracy, and solve production issues caused by unstable existing equipment, product trapping during sealing, and inconsistent packaging quality.
EIXPACK provided a customized powder stick pack machine solution integrated with a downstream cartoning machine.
The system was designed around the characteristics of coffee powder with high sugar content: moisture sensitivity, possible product clumping, filling accuracy requirements, and the need for clean and reliable sealing.
The project supports 10g and 20g stick pack formats and was planned around the customer’s target of up to 400 packs/min and a sealing pass rate target of 99.5%, depending on product, film, operating conditions, and final machine configuration.
The customer’s production relied heavily on manual handling and packaging support. As order volume increased, labor cost became a direct limitation on production scalability and long-term packaging cost control.
The existing packaging capacity could not keep up with order growth. Without a higher-output automated packaging line, the customer risked longer delivery cycles, production bottlenecks, and limited ability to accept larger orders.
Machine instability affected production continuity. Frequent adjustments, downtime, or inconsistent running conditions can reduce real output and increase pressure on operators and maintenance teams.
Coffee powder stick packs require stable quantitative filling. If filling accuracy is inconsistent, the customer may face overfilling cost, underweight risk, inconsistent consumer experience, and difficulty maintaining standardized product quality.
High-sugar coffee powder can be more likely to stick, bridge, or get trapped in the sealing area. Product trapping may cause poor sealing, leakage risk, rejected packs, and lower package appearance quality.
The main goal of this project was to help hogood coffee build a more stable and scalable coffee powder stick pack production line. The customer expected the solution to improve output, reduce labor, improve filling accuracy, support multiple stick pack sizes, reduce product trapping, and improve sealing consistency.
Key project goals included:
EIXPACK supplied a customized coffee stick pack packaging machines solution integrated with a downstream cartoning machine. The line was developed for coffee powder sticks and designed to handle the customer’s production challenges: high labor cost, insufficient capacity, unstable existing equipment, low filling accuracy, and product trapping during sealing.
The complete system included vacuum feeding, servo short auger dosing, stick pack forming and sealing, thermal transfer coding, and downstream cartoning. Instead of treating packaging and cartoning as separate operations, the system was planned as a connected production line with end-of-line automation to reduce manual transfer, improve production continuity, and support more stable output.
The vacuum feeder supports automatic coffee powder conveying from the material supply area to the dosing system. For coffee powder production, this helps reduce manual material handling, improve feeding continuity, and maintain a more stable supply of powder during high-speed operation.

The servo short auger dosing system is suitable for quantitative filling of powder products. For coffee powder with high sugar content, servo-driven control helps improve filling repeatability, reduce overfilling, and support more consistent 10g and 20g stick pack production.
For similar powder applications, EIXPACK can also evaluate a dedicated powder stick pack machine configuration based on the customer’s product flowability, target weight, and required speed.
The forming and sealing system forms roll film into stick packs and creates stable longitudinal and cross seals. Because coffee powder can absorb moisture and high-sugar blends may be more likely to contaminate the sealing area, sealing stability is critical for reducing rejected packs, improving package appearance, and helping the customer reach the target sealing pass rate.

The thermal transfer printer supports date coding, batch coding, and traceability information on the package. This is useful for food packaging management, retail distribution, and production batch control.

The downstream cartoning machine helps move finished coffee stick packs into carton packaging with less manual handling. For a customer expanding capacity, cartoning integration helps prevent the end-of-line process from becoming a new bottleneck after the stick pack machine reaches higher output.
Coffee powder stick packaging is not only a speed issue. Moisture sensitivity, sugar content, product trapping, filling variation, and sealing cleanliness all affect final package quality. This solution combines servo dosing, stable forming and sealing, automatic feeding, coding, and cartoning integration to address the complete production requirement rather than solving only one part of the process.

For this customized coffee powder stick pack project, EIXPACK can provide support throughout the full project cycle, from requirement analysis to installation, commissioning, operator training, and future automation upgrades.
Support services may include:

“After introducing the coffee stick pack packaging machines and cartoning line, our coffee powder stick production became more stable and easier to manage. The system helped us improve packaging efficiency, reduce manual handling, and achieve more consistent filling and sealing quality for different stick pack sizes. EIXPACK’s technical support also helped us match the solution to our actual production requirements.”

This solution works because it matches the real packaging risks of coffee powder sticks. Coffee powder with high sugar content is sensitive to moisture, can be difficult to dose consistently, and may cause product trapping during sealing. A general packaging machine may not solve all these problems if feeding, dosing, sealing, coding, and downstream handling are not considered as one system.
By using automatic vacuum feeding, servo short auger dosing, stable forming and sealing, thermal transfer coding, and downstream cartoning, the line addresses both product handling and business efficiency. It improves production continuity, reduces manual intervention, supports 10g and 20g stick pack formats, and helps the customer move toward higher-output coffee powder packaging.
For similar coffee powder, beverage powder, food powder, and contract packaging projects, EIXPACK can support customers with customized packaging automation solutions.
The service capability is not limited to supplying a single machine; it can include product evaluation, package format discussion, dosing system selection, stick pack forming and sealing design, coding integration, cartoning connection, and future automation planning.
EIXPACK can support different customer types, including contract packers, brand manufacturers, food factories, pharmaceutical factories, coffee roasters, and powder product manufacturers.
For each project, the recommended solution should be confirmed according to product properties, target weight, bag size, film material, required speed, factory layout, and downstream packaging requirements.
These coffee stick pack packaging machines are suitable for coffee powder sticks and similar powder products, such as instant coffee powder, 2-in-1 coffee mix, 3-in-1 coffee mix, beverage powder, milk tea powder, sugar powder blends, and other free-flowing or semi-free-flowing powder products. Final configuration depends on product characteristics.
Yes. The system can be designed to support 10g and 20g coffee powder stick pack formats. Bag width, bag length, dosing volume, forming parts, sealing parameters, and cartoning requirements should be confirmed before final quotation.
A servo auger dosing system is commonly suitable for powder products requiring quantitative filling. For high-sugar coffee powder, the auger design, hopper structure, product flow control, and anti-trapping measures should be evaluated based on the actual formula.
Yes. This project includes a thermal transfer printer, which can be used for production date, batch number, and traceability coding. The final coding format depends on package design and customer requirements.
Yes. This project uses coffee stick pack packaging machines integrated with a downstream cartoning machine. Cartoning integration helps reduce manual handling and supports more continuous production for higher-volume coffee stick pack orders.
Before quotation, EIXPACK usually needs product samples or product details, target weight per stick, bag size, packaging film information, required output, carton format, factory layout, voltage requirements, and any special coding or inspection requirements.
This solution is more suitable for medium to large production where the customer needs higher output, more stable filling, reduced labor, and downstream cartoning automation. For smaller production, the configuration can be adjusted according to budget and capacity requirements.
After-sales service can include installation guidance, commissioning support, operator training, maintenance guidance, spare parts support, remote technical support, and possible on-site service depending on project requirements.
